Fine Wine, Cheese, & Leather

I can't believe it's June! Truly, this was the fastest year of my life, and as I pick up speed going downhill towards that magical third decade of life-the big 30, I know the cronies were right when I held my little Sage as a newborn and they all said "Oh! You just wait, he'll be graduating from High School before you know it!"

I rolled my eyes, of course...and here we are, 6 years later and he's two days shy from completing his first year of primary school. Does anyone call it that anymore? Ageism.

I remember driving to Adam's parent's house by myself to meet with him. The road to their home twists and turns, you can't go very quickly, and it gives your mind time to ponder. I came up with this great Aha! I am never ever going to get younger, ever. Seems banal, but it was a profound moment for me.

Back to knitting...Here are some photos of the finished "Violet Turns into a Two." I think may be the project I am most proud of so far. It was so wonderful to work on, I ate my vegetables quick, so I could get back to the dessert of it. There aren't enough knitting projects that I have felt this way about....but you just never know how you are going to feel until your about halfway through the stitches. I think the playfullness I felt whilst knitting the sweater come out in the end.

I hope she cherishes it some day. For now, I have to bribe her with adventures outside...and of course it's June now, and too hot to wear. It will fit for quite some time, I think. Get better with age. As all of us women do.

Adorable outfit, Amy but what is up with the hat??? You're leading your daughter down the very scary road of the Renaissance Festival!
