My brother, Andrew, and his gal pal Sharon were visiting Minnesota from Missiissppi for Christmas. Ironically, they live across the street from a fiber store and neither of them knit.
Sharon showed me a scarf she liked out of Rowan Big Knits, using Rowan Biggie Print, which is pretty damn expensive! The scarf called for 4 skeins basically an eighty dollar scarf? Okay, I exaggerate a bit...but we decided it might be more fun for her to pick out some fiber from
Patty's shop.Sharon liked the Colinette Point 5 right away, another bulky yarn. I said,"oooo...I like that too. I used that with Rowan kidsilk once on really big needles. I kinda wound the thick stuff through the thin. Here, look at this stuff..."
She picked out a beautiful Rowan kidsilk Night (with a bit of sparkle aka polyster in it), and a gray/purple-ish Colinette.
After giving her a hug goodbye at the shop, I headed home to dig out the pattern from the
Knitty Archives. It's called Luscious Loopy.
Here's the finished product.

I called it Monlight on the Banwy River because of the two colors used. The Rowan kidsilk is the Moonlight, and the Colinette the Banwy. I thought, Banwy what the hell does that mean. So I looked it up. It's a river in Wales. Cool.

I hope Sharon likes it!

It's so cool for people to pick out the yarn they want for a project. It adds to my stash in ways I never could. These are not colors I go for when tempted by the Wheel of Fortune of fibers at the yarn shop.
They are beautiful!
And...Drumroll please....I FINALLY FRAMED PAM'S PRINT!

I love knitting for Pamela because really appreciates the art of knitting, and she gives me fabulous prints in return! I am in awe of her talent! Our dining area has become a make-shift gallery for her amazing prints. This one is called "Seol Poppies." She traded me for Teva Durham's shrug out of Scarf Style. Good old
Teva. I also knit Pam an orange version ot the green sweater I knit for myself with the leaf motif. It looks amazing on her. I will have her email me some photos to post on the blog. You can view more of her prints at
New Grounds,or head to Alberquerque and look her up. She will also be on HGTV, I will keep you all posted when I hear more.
