Onward Sweater Soldier

Well...I've managed to finish the bottom half of this sweater and a bit of the top (see pic).
So far, so good. I've only made a few mistakes, and they're minor so I will try and fix them when the sweater is complete. I really like working with the misty alpaca baby alpaca. I think it will drape really nicely.
The color looks a bit strange in the photo, and well, it really is a bit strange. An ode to the 1970's days of avocado shag carpets. I think I really dig it. It brings back memories of hamburger gravy and simple days of my childhood spent outside playing with "chalk rocks." It also reminds me of the color of many of my grandma Gilmer's afghans. I didn't know until she was sick with cancer and on her deathbed that she had actually knit those green and orange afghans. Also, she had taken up knitting when she was going through a bad bout of depression, and after making her way out of it, vowed never to knit again. How sad. Knitting is what takes me "out" of my funk. It's such a great pallette cleanser.
Well, here's to knitting pulling everyone out of their daily funk n rolls.
